User sentiment has been taken into account by the team at PancakeSwap as a series of changes are set to be implemented.
PancakeSwap’s Lottery Revamp
PancakeSwap has announced a series of changes to its ‘Lottery’ feature that will see more concentrated rounds and prize injections resulting in the potential for winners to pick up even higher prizes.
In its official Medium publication on February 3 by Chef Bun, confirmation came that one of PancakeSwap’s most popular features is set to see most lottery rounds take place every 36 hours, with an injection on average of 35,000 $CAKE per week.
PancakeSwap outlined three main reasons for the imminent change:
Our community would love to have a longer game duration.
Ticket sales are generally concentrated at rounds with prize injection.
The size of the total prize pool is an important factor to draw more participants.
With more than $5.5 million in $CAKE burned through the use of the feature, an updated functionality can hopefully help chip away at the high emissions rate of the protocol. The alteration is scheduled to take place after round #435, February 7, with the new round beginning on the next round at 12PM UTC February 8.
There had been calls for updates to PancakeSwap’s current lottery system on Reddit, with Yoloyodo22 stating:
“The PCS Lottery went to millions worth in the 1st 10-20 draws, why isn’t it being injected with more CAKE? We need Millions worth of PCS Lottery please. Or reduce PCS Lotto price from $5 to $1.”
These calls do seem somewhat more ambitious, but PancakeSwap at least seems more willing to listen out for community sentiment and could enact more changes. With millions of users, the potential is enormous.
“If you have taken a look at our latest 2022 Q1 Roadmap, you might have noticed that Lottery V3 is also in our pipeline!” The team added in the concluding section of their Medium post.
PancakeSwap has explained that they are in the process of researching new ticket sales and even new game types. The team wants to continuously upgrade their popular Lottery feature in a bid to keep it as enticing as ever.
