The process of purchasing Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) is set to take on a new sheen with Mist’s fully immersive, 3D, in-game NFT marketplace. The innovative NFT GameFi, Mist, is charging into uncharted waters with its new marketplace.
Mist’s innovative new marketplace will officially be live on August 6th at 14:00 UTC. The Mist team originally shared the information through a Medium post on August 3rd, and since then, tension has been building on Binance Smart Chain (BSC).
The Mist Marketplace is built to be fully accessible via a web page, browser game style — no heavy PC build requirements!
Marketplace Useful and Immersive
Aside from being innovative and offering a break from the norm, the in-game marketplace will introduce the Mist gameplay to prospective users. Players will be able to test in-game controls and gain a feel of the universe that Mist opens up for them.
Using the token $MIST players will be able to level-up their respective NFTs. The marketplace will also offer the opportunity to combine two NFTs of the same level with $MIST, to obtain a higher level.
Two Announcements Hot on the Heels of New Marketplace
Alongside the news of the new marketplace, the Mist team issued two big announcements in their Medium:
A whitelist mega event for a chance to win Mist NFT items such as pets and weapons
This is the beginning of the NFT Airdrop Mega Event. Having begun on August 4th, users have been joining the whitelist for the opportunity to win one of 10 Mist in-game NFTs. The event has been taking place on a platform called ‘Gleam’ that allows users to complete actions to earn entries into the whitelist.
A pivotal partnership with a ‘groundbreaking 3D immersive NFT marketplace and MMO game’
A new strategic and technical partnership with Crypto World––an impressive Open-World Sandbox Social MMO NFT game and 3D NFT Mall marketplace. The 3D and augmented reality marketplaces Crypto World construct (as pictured below) have inspired Mist to take similar strides.
What Is Mist?
As explained on the official white paper, Mist is run and built on Binance Smart Chain. A blockchain-based action RPG game centered around NFTs, Staking, and Farming.
Built with Unity using the in-house Mist NFT Game Framework (MNGF), the project offers players an immersive in-game environment with five playable character classes and countless spells, abilities, and environments.
Mist has tried to make their NFTs more useable and functional, as opposed to being solely a collectible item, as is common in much of GameFi. The NFTs are obtained via rare monster drops and in-game events and can be placed into the Mist Game Framework, becoming special in-game items.
The NFTs operate and can be sold or bought in open in-game exchanges or auctions but are interestingly also available in 3rd party NFT exchanges beyond the limits of the game.
Using the $MIST native token, you can also stake the in-game currency by buying or investing in in-game businesses such as stores and taverns. Staking, of course, leads to extra rewards and in-game store revenue.
Players also can farm by “purchasing” farmland, farms, or livestock. As your farms work, you receive rewards in equal measure.
