Binance Smart Chain Introduce NFT Metadata Standards

NFT Marketplaces and BSC were vital as the Unified NFT Metadata Standards were drawn up.

NFT MetaData Standards Approved by Marketplaces

Binance Smart Chain (BSC) has collaborated with several marketplaces to construct a unified NFT Metadata Standard for the BSC ecosystem.

The announcement was made official on January 27 by BSC Matthew via the Binance website. The post saw the agreement launched in a document and cited contributions by Binance NFTGallery, Bazaar, and NFTrade. The standard won’t appear unfamiliar to regular NFT traders or OpenSea users, whom the metadata by most projects including this have been based on.

“We highly encourage NFT projects to adopt this set of standards as much as possible. Several marketplaces such as those listed above as well as TofuNFTNFTbTreasureland and PancakeSwap have agreed to align to these standards,” BSC Matthew affirmed in the announcement.

The wholesale on-chain agreement will do much to bring a sense of unity not only in terms of general standards but also in relating to specifics like NFT Metadata structure, attributes, and even traits.

The implementation will offer a unified approach in terms of both presentation and offerings, meaning a more standardized general market for prospective buyers to enjoy. For Binance Smart Chain, the goal will be to get their several NFT projects singing from the same hymn sheet and providing ample competition to the successes enjoyed by projects on both Ethereum and Solana.

As OpenSea continues to disappoint users on Ethereum, a proper and robust NFT standard on BSC could go far in turning the tides of NFT momentum in favor of BSC. The impact of the latest implementation will take time to make its mark, but users will be hoping it will have a reinvigorating effect. BSC News will be following closely.
