Binance Smart Chain Bruno Upgrade (v1.1.5) on Nov.30

Transaction activity on the Binance Smart Chain has hit a peak with 14 million transactions processed in 24 hours. This volume of transaction tested the limits of the network, so BSC announced the Bruno Upgrade.

Two key points of Bruno Upgrade:

(1) A new BNB burning mechanism: BEP-95

(2) Greater Efficiency : BEP-93

BEP-95: Real-Time Burning Mechanism

This upgrade will be independent of the original Binance Burning Mechanism. Even if BNB is less than 100 million, this burning will go on long!

The initial proposed burnRatio is 10%. However, BNB validators can vote to change. Moreover, it will make BSC more decentralized (DAO) and protect the interests of BNB holders in the long run.

BEP-93: Speed up node sync

The fourth protocol was added to the original three protocols:

1.Snapsync

2.Fastsync

3.Fullsync

4.Diffsync (newly added)

This new protocol allows nodes not to perform the calculation transactions (usually the most time-consuming part, about 70%), but through the Cache + diff channel, which is responsible for transmitting the calculation results of the received transaction to speed up node sync.

In fact, it is similar to the ETH L2. The only difference is that L2 (such as polygon) is attached to the public chain (ETH) by plug-in; but BEP-93 is directly embedded in the public chain (BSC).

BSC is obviously undergoing a solid technical update, which is in line with current mainstream trends, just like ETH EIP-1559.

Let’s look forward to the Bruno Upgrade (v1.1.5) on November 30!
