Alpaca Finance Announces Governance Vault Pt. 2

Three major changes are lined up to drop as Alpaca seeks more decentralization, security, and flexibility.

Alpaca Sets Stage for Major Changes

The team at Alpaca Finance has announced three new incoming aspects to the Governance Vaults on the protocol. In what was deemed a vote of confidence in the team’s decision-making through the $ALPACA staking vaults, the Alpaca team will now take steps to ensure a more decentralized, secure, and flexible platform.

The details of the feature updates came via a Medium blog by Huacayachief, Head of Product for Alpaca Finance. The blog outlined each of the three features: Early withdrawal parameters, Governance pt. 2 processes, and the Alpaca Insurance Plan. Each of the three updates seeks to bring a unique solution to impact the protocol for the long term.

“We plan to start implementing these features after we finish the Automated Vaults, though some aspects such as the Forum may be online sooner,” writes Huacayachief. “We’re aiming to release the early withdrawal feature around the end of Q1 2022. The Insurance Plan will become active after the governance voting is online.”

The team at Alpaca is hoping that the governance updates can bring in more decentralized participation from the community, something many protocols on Binance Smart Chain have begun attempting, including ApeSwap. The insurance policy should help secure more funds and make users feel safer when using Alpaca as a leverage option. Despite slow implementation, these changes should help transform the protocol.

What is Alpaca Finance?

Alpaca Finance is the largest lending protocol that allows leveraged yield farming on Binance Smart Chain. It helps lenders to earn safe and stable yields, and offers borrowers undercollateralized loans for leveraged yield farming positions, vastly multiplying their farming principles and resulting profits.‌

Alpacas are a virtuous breed. That’s why Alpaca Finance prides itself on being a fair-launch project with no pre-sale, no investor, and no pre-mine. From the beginning, the project has always been a product built by the people, for the people––or as the Alpaca team likes to say: by the Alpacas, for the Alpacas.
