Chainstack Report: Ethereum Leads Web3 Developer Activity in US, While BNB Chain Takes the Lead in Europe and Asia

Introduction

Ethereum dominates web3 developer activity across the U.S., while BNB Chain leads the market in Europe and Asia, according to a recent report from crypto infrastructure provider Chainstack.

Protocol Preferences by Region

In the U.S., Ethereum led the way with 18.8 billion (38.9%) of node requests, followed by BNB Chain with 31.3% and Polygon with 17.2%. In Europe, BNB Chain led developer activity, registering 5.4 billion node requests (24.4%), closely followed by Polygon and Avalanche with 22.8% and 22.6%, respectively. In Asia, BNB Chain dominated with 3.4 billion requests, accounting for 72.1% of node infrastructure.

Node Preferences: Full vs. Archive Nodes

Full nodes were the preference across all regions compared to archive nodes. Full nodes, providing a more efficient solution by trimming blockchain data, accounted for 99.5% of total requests in Asia, 65.8% in the U.S., and 71% in Europe.

Node Type Preferences: Elastic vs. Dedicated Nodes

Elastic nodes, accessible by multiple users and applications simultaneously, were preferred in Asia (89.6% of requests) and Europe (61% of requests). In the U.S., dedicated nodes led with 52.6% of total requests.

Conclusion

Chainstack’s report sheds light on the evolving landscape of web3 developer activity, highlighting the dominance of Ethereum in the U.S., and BNB Chain’s leading position in Europe and Asia. These insights provide valuable information for developers and businesses navigating the dynamic world of blockchain technology.
