The 1inch network has launched a car racing game as its foray into application based on Web3 tools and mechanics.
1inch DEX Launches PlayToEarn GameFi
1inch, the decentralized exchange (DEX), has launched their car racing game, DeFi Racer, on Dec. 21.
The game was built by Nord Beaver Studios and is currently implemented into the 1inchWallet for iOS. It was developed under the 1inch Foundation’s ongoing Grant program. The game aims to be both equally straightforward and thrilling, wherein players can maneuver a running car between a three-lane road with the objective of avoiding any obstacles that come in its way.
“The game comes as the 1inch Network’s first array into the area of Web 3.0. Such Web 3.0 areas as GameFi, play-to-earn, and metaverse, look extremely promising, and the 1inch Network is eager to explore these areas and facilitate their development,” stated the official press release that introduced the game. “That was the main reason for issuing a grant from the 1inch Foundation to Nord Beaver studio to develop the DeFi Racer game.”
DeFi Racer’s gameplay seems highly similar to smartphone games like Subway Surfer and Temple Run, with the objective being the same, just with a car and a PlayToEarn model involved. However, if the DEX wants to get serious gamers interested in the game or any of the games they plan to release in the shift to Web3, the games would need to be more sophisticated so that they actually engage serious gamers like Need For Speed or Formula 1 racing games.
What is 1inch Network?
1inch is a DEX aggregator that uses the order books and liquidity from a handful of decentralized exchanges for its lowest prices for digital asset pairs and reroutes their user’s trades amongst them to ensure the best prices on the platform. The DEX was founded back in 2019 by Sergej Kunz and Anton Bukov during Ethereum’s hackathon in New York.1inch operates on multiple networks, including Ethereum, Binance Smart Chain, Polygon, and Optimistic Ethereum.
