What are BNB Chain’s Revelation Hackathon Bounties Attempting to Fix?

BSC News takes a closer look at some of the solutions BNB Chain is attempting to unearth in its Revelation Hackathon.

Buidl2Earn Bounties

Bounty rewards for innovative solutions to problems ranging from decentralized payroll to metadata standards have been put forward in BNB Chain’s first-ever Revelation Hackathon.

This global, first-ever hackathon by BNB Chain, taking place from March 21 to May 10,  looks to offer users an opportunity to compete for direct investment and sponsorship with some of the most innovative projects in the blockchain space.

“We’re looking for innovative teams that build products for the future. Compete in one of the six categories and fight for your share of up to $10 million in prizes and seed funding,” the Revelation Hackathon website states.

What is a Bounty?

The bounties introduced by BNB Chain are an important way for a project on its ecosystem to seek help from developers all over the world, and it’s a win-win situation since the solution provider would be rewarded with a generous prize and gain influence in the community.

Bounties seeking problem-solvers for important issues are published by sponsors from BNB Grant DAO including BNB Chain, Ankr, NodeReal, etc., each problem solver is in turn handsomely rewarded for their efforts and the chain grows.

Problems to Solve

Here we offer some examples of what is being sought after in the offerings; we start smaller and look to the more complex problems.

Bounty 7

The first bounty we look at is Bounty 7, offering $1,500 is titled: Dune Dashboard – NFT performance dashboards

The focus is on NFTs here, with the level of difficulty determined as ‘Medium.’ The call is as follows:

Create a comprehensive dashboard that provides insights on sales and trading for NFT collections on BNB Chain. This should include the following views:

1. Overall NFT ecosystem and performance, including trading volume, avg floor price, and other metrics

2. Deep dive into top collections, the category of collections, number of assets, buyers, sellers, trading volume, gas fee, etc

3. Project / collection specific views – dashboards for top 5 NFT projects on BNB chain with project specific metrics

Bounty 4

The next bounty we consider attempts to offer a decentralized payroll service and focuses on an infrastructural goal. The level of difficulty is termed ‘Medium’ again here, with the cash prize set at $10,000. The call that follows asks for developers to produce an idea that demonstrates why decentralized payroll is more effective and how: If it is your responsibility to handle the employee payroll in your company, you probably have many questions, including––and especially––about the right approach to payroll. Are you stuck on wondering whether decentralized payroll is better than centralized payroll? Now take action and demonstrate your great idea!

Bounty 12

The final Bounty we’re considering is focused on NFTs once more, offering a prize of $30,000. The difficulty is defined as ‘Hard’ with the problem titled: Easy (One-click) NFT creation & implementation.

Many web2 game studios may not be as familiar with implementing NFTs and blockchain elements into web2 games. Besides games, this could be the same for several creators out there. Create a tool that enables an easy way to create NFTs or implement NFTs in a game.

These are just some of the tasks that have been presented to developers. A comprehensive list of the Revelation bounties on offer can be found here.
