The charity wing of the cryptocurrency exchange continues to deliver on its commitment to support the Ukrainian humanitarian efforts.
Binance Charity Supports Ukraine
The United Nations Refugee Agency has accepted its very first stablecoin donation from Binance in the form of BUSD in the amount of $2.5 million dollars.

“Binance Charity’s commitment to the families fleeing the way in Ukraine shows the innovative philanthropic power of crypto in action,” said Anne-Marie Grey, Executive Director and CEP of USA for UNHCR. “This generous support will make a life-changing difference for families forced to flee, and more importantly, it shows families that a caring and committed global community is stepping forward during their darkest times.”
The donation will support ongoing Ukrainian humanitarian efforts as many families and individuals have been forced to flee into neighboring countries. Supports include providing legal and social assistance, including psychosocial support and emergency shelter. At the time of writing, more than 10 million people have been displaced with over 4 million relocating to Poland, Moldova, Romania, and Hungary.
“Every day we see more casualties, more destruction, more lives lost. Our hearts ache for the people of Ukraine. We are proud that we’ve been able to work with UNHCR to deliver its first BUSD crypto donation,” says Hele Hai, Head of Binance Charity. “UNHCR’s tireless efforts and second-to-none experience in assisting refugees, makes them an obvious choice to support as part of our $10 million USD in crypto donations.”
This is the latest donation by Binance after previously committing $10 million USD. After already donating $4.5 million dollars, the latest donation brings the total to $7 million, and the remainder will focus on long-term crypto-based assistance and relief. Binance Charity has also launched a crowd-funding platform that has raised approximately $900K USD from the crypto community.
