Tiny Colony Teases Project’s Future

Base Defense is the next priority after the team successfully launched the MVP of their base construction mechanic of the game.

The Developers of the Solana PlayAndEarn blockchain game Tiny Colony shared what the community can expect in the coming weeks.

In an Aug. 23 Tweet, Tiny Colony CEO Arshia Navabi and game producer Ernest Cheung shared some leaks on the next phases of the game’s development. After releasing their MVP last month, which featured the basics of resource management and base building, the team is focused on adding the next feature, base defense .

“Our next big feature that we want to implement is the base defense,” Cheung said on the YouTube video. “The best way to picture it is like the traditional tower defense games you used to play. The idea is to create a tunnel system, which would also incorporate your buildings, which prolongs the journey towards your resources.”

Players will create a labyrinth of traps to help them successfully defend their base from waves of zombie ants looking to steal the players’ valuable resources. Like most tower defense games, each new wave incrementally increases in difficulty and rewards will be given once players hit certain milestones or complete quests along the way.

“We’re super excited to be working on quests and all those mechanisms that come with it,” Navabi added. “There’s so many layers to Tiny Colony [and] this is just some very early base level mechanics so that the community can see what we’re working on.”

Cheung also revealed that there will be various ways in which players can defend their colony. Strategies can be character dependent or trap dependent and different metas will come out, which the team is excited on seeing.

“There’s just so many ways where you can build up your base and I’m really excited to see what the metas end up being, especially when we have tournaments and stuff. I wonder what the winning strategy will be,” Cheung said about what’s to come.
