Splinterlands Raises $5M in Under 2 Minutes in RiftWatcher Presale

GameFi project Splinterlands racked up $5 million sales in under two minutes with the launch of its Riftwatchers card pack edition.

Splinterlands, a PlaytoEarn Web3 collectible trading card game on Hive blockchain and BNB Chain, released its newest card pack edition, Riftwatchers, creating a significant boost in sales. The project sold out of all 500,000 packs in its presale within 1 minute and 39 seconds, raising $5 million.

Users also purchased 30,000 Chaos Legion packs along with 1,300 validator node licenses, making for one of the biggest sales days for Splinterlands ever, by volume. In a bearish market, the success of the sale indicates the strong commitment and loyalty of the Splinterlands community to the game and economy.

“We know that we’ve created a great game here and that our community is enthusiastic about what we are building in the Web3 space,” said Jesse “Aggroed” Reich, Splinterlands CEO. “But even our greatest expectations have been surpassed in such a massive, rapid success in the Riftwatchers sale.”

The company has announced significant collaborations with Warner Music Group (WMG) and the Major League Soccer Players Association (MLSPA) this year. The project has also announced a Splinterlands Tower Defense game and their newest Non-Fungible Token (NFT) project, the Runicore PFP collection, which will expand the project’s interoperability with Ethereum.
