Sky Mavis Tokens Pump as Axie Infinity Announces Breeding Event

Sky Mavis tokens $RON, $AXS, and $SLP saw double-digit percentage increases in prices thanks to Axie Infinity’s Summer Breeding Event.

The PlayAndEarn blockchain game on the Ronin network has been teasing the community before finally revealing through Twitter on July 14 the first breeding event in over 930 days. The Lunacian Summer event triggered a massive breeding spree that caused over 29,398,500 $SLP to be burned to give birth to 7,335 new Axies according to Playcore’s data. 

“We’re delighted to unveil the hottest breeding event Lunacia has ever seen,” Axie Infinity said in a Twitter Thread. “A variety of special summer skins can be bred through selective Axie breeding. Lunacian Summer is a rare and special chance to make a mark on history by creating your very own summer Axie. Since the supply of these summer Axies will remain fixed after the breeding window closes, they’ll become rarer and rarer as a percentage of the overall population.”

The numbers show that Lunacias have been waiting for a big breeding event like Lunacian Summer. The previous two breeding events that took place in Lunacia were the Japanese and Christmas Axie parts.The community has been asking for this and the team listened and delivered. At least this is what KooKoo, a community Content Creator and Axie Breeder, thinks.

“It’s a sign of progress and it means the team is listening to the members of the community when they asked for a breeding event,” the host of KooKoo Crypto TV, told BSCNews. “It also caters to those people who want to breed and collect, not just those who play to earn. I’m looking forward to seeing great numbers of new breeds in the next coming days.”

The main difference with this event compared to the previous ones, according to KooKoo, is that more breeders are joining since the community is bigger now. A total of 1,382 unique wallet addresses joined and a sum of 246.29 $WETH in marketplace transactions was spent on the first day of the event as Lunacians scrambled in order to acquire the Axies with the parts needed for the event.

Lunacians are excited for the summer!

To get an Axie with a summer skin, Lunacians must breed two Axies that contain each of the required body parts. The offspring must also have the correct body part as its dominant trait when born. For example, in order to get a Vanilla Ice Cream body part, trainers must breed an Axie with Eggshell to an Axie with Unko. The offspring should have Unko as its dominant trait for it to have the Summer skin.

The team also introduced a 1% chance for an Axie to have a shiny summer skin, making that Axie much more valuable.
