Refuge NFT Metaverse Exhibition Rallies with Gallery for Ukraine

A major NFT exhibition has landed on BNB Chain with support from many talented and influential artists, all coming together to provide help for the growing crisis Ukraine.

NFT Metaverse Exhibition for Ukraine

One of the most comprehensive charity events on BNB Chain supporting the Ukrainian cause in its ongoing war with Russia has debuted the Decentraland Metaverse. Dubbed Refuge, the crypto charity event launches the new Orica Gallery, which corralled over 20 prominent NFT artists and curators for an art exhibition where 100% of the proceeds will go to The Giving Block’s fund for Ukraine. The event will debut on March 31 at 19:00 UTC and run for one month until April 30.

In an exclusive press release from Orica to BSC News on March 31, the team at Orica revealed that the development for the project came from recognizing an underrepresentation of the BNB Chain amongst the donators to Ukraine. The event is bringing together artists, creators, and influences from all over the space in an effort to show how much the BNB Chain can respond to the critical events affecting us all.

“It’s such a terrifying and stressful time,” Moscow artist Katerina Marchenko explained about her involvement. “My heart is bleeding for all the innocent people involved in these political games. I think we all must find the strength to create something kind and beautiful.”

Art and crypto are simultaneously acting as coping mechanisms for those involved. Crypto is proving to be an avenue for those affected by the conflict to maintain sovereignty over their own assets while art is becoming a creative outlet to express sentiments and a platform to raise funds to support the harrowing crisis.

“This is a humanitarian crisis that needs everyone’s support,” explains community-builder Dehuffski, a co-founder of the BNB Chain Growth Alliance, and well-known Community Manager of several NFT projects. “I chose to back REFUGE because through it artists can express the topic of this war while raising essential funds.”

NFT Exhibition Details

As mentioned above, the event will begin on March 31. The event kicked off with a Twitter Spaces hosted by Dehuffski, at the hour the event started. The Twitter Spaces was joined by three of the featured artists (Crash BlossomCarl Yonder, and MellowMan), plus Orica CEO and Co-Founder Daniel Zay and The Bull’s Society.

The exhibition event will feature 20 NFT artists who donated artwork to be minted as BNB Chain NFTs. The NFT artists are well known around the space and all event will be promoted by big Twitter influences, including MrBanks (170k followers) and CGAA (192k followers). The artists have all donated their works and the project has received incredible support from the community.

“Some still questioned why a crypto influencer would support a charity event without payment,” added Bay Backner, Orica’s Head of Curaton. “But many others like CryptoKojima, CGAA (Crypto_GA_Arena), and DeHuffski freely offered their help and networks.”

The REFUGE fundraiser has already donated over 26.4BNB ($11,000) to the cause and the event should see an increasing influx of funds. The twenty NFTs should command a high premium on the market as both 1-of-1 NFTs as well as conduits for charity.

“Orica is a new platform contributing to using NFTs for beyond profit,” explains participating artist, Nino Arteiro, based in Brazil. “REFUGE is a way for us artists to contribute to our social role in building a better world.”
