Polygon ID Launched, Promising Private Digital Identities

Polygon ID is an implementation of the Iden3 Protocol, using zero-knowledge proofs.

Decentralized, Private, Composable

Polygon has launched a new digital identity solution called Polygon ID that uses zero-knowledge proofs to enhance users’ privacy.

An implementation of the Iden3 Protocol, Polygon ID is “the missing piece” in the Self-Sovereign Identity puzzle, the Polygon Developers account tweeted. As a Web3 solution using zk proofs, Polygon ID also has the benefits of decentralization, private on-chain verification and composability.

What is Polygon:

Polygon is a “sidechain” scaling solution that runs alongside the Ethereum blockchain — allowing for speedy transactions and low fees. MATIC is the network’s native cryptocurrency, which is used for fees, staking, and more. The effectiveness of Polygon as an alternative to Ethereum has seen existing projects such as Aave and Curve adopting its chain.
