Travel website Travala will now accept payments for some 3 million travel products in CAKE, but the early round of voting picked a different winner.
CAKE Wins Travala Nod
Holidaymakers on the Travala travel website will soon be able to pay for their holidays in CAKE thanks to a community vote which placed PancakeSwap’s token at the top of the heap. From a total of 5.2 million votes on the Travala website, PancakeSwap’s CAKE secured 4.2 million votes, whole Floki Inu’s FLOKI could only secure 933,775. The final round of voting was open only to Travala’s AVA token holders.
The result wasn’t without some small degree of controversy, however, as a previous round of voting saw a different coin win the greatest number of votes. The previous voting round on Twitter included four competitors with PancakeSwap (CAKE), Floki Inu (FLOKI), Shiba Inu (SHIB) and Axie Infinity (AXS) competing.
In the previous round the coins secured the following vote percentages:
AXS: 1.7%
SHIBA: 26%
CAKE: 35.9%
FLOKI: 36.4%
The vote meant that CAKE and FLOKI entered the next round of voting. In the end, FLOKI’s Twitter lead counted for naught as AVA holders opted for the more established CAKE token. CAKE holders will now be able to purchase a huge number of holiday options with their tokans.
Blockchain-friendly Travala continues to perform well, boasting revenues of $2 million a month.
