Great, so to start things off

1. Please introduce yourself and the team behind Kryptomon

Sure!

so again nice to meet you everybody, I’m Umberto and I’m the Founder and CEO of the Kryptomon Company 🙂 

I’m a gamer, an entrepreneur and quite geek 😄 I’ve started my first company when I was like 19 (it wasn’t a great success, but a cool learning experience) – I always had a big passion, which is creating stuff that people would love to use, this is what’s drives me most! And Kryptomon for me is the first time where I had the chance to merge my big passion for Pokémon together with my passion of building ventures

Of course I’m not alone in this journey, together with me there’s an incredible team of talented people from every part of the world – at the end Team is everything, and without a great team even the best Idea cannot succeed. Currently we are like 10 people, but we are growing fast! Soon we will in more than 20 😄

2. Please give us an overview of Kryptomon and what your mission is.

so let’s start from the elevator pitch of what Kryptomon is

Take Cryptokitties, mix it with Tamagotchi and Pokémon and BOOOM you get Kryptomon

the idea came to me back in April, when I was following the NFT Craze, everyon was talking about it etc, but to me at the end most of them were just quite expensive .gifs or .pngs

and I’ve asked myself, what if we do create a living creature using NFTs ?

So Kryptomons are digital monsters that players need to take care of, by feeding, caring, healing and training to make them stronger and then like in pokémon battle against other players, and partecipate in the tournaments. At the end of the day we are trying to bring the old fashion pokémon world to reality!

and Like in Cryptokitties, every kryptomon is unique, with it’s own DNA and players will be able to breed to create new Kryptomons to improve their team or even sell them for profit on the market 🙂

3. What is the $KMON token and how is it used on your platform?

Well, every world comes with it’s currency, and $KMON is actually the Kryptomon’s world currency – every action in game, from buying chest with items, breed new kryptomons, buying / sell, and also partecipate in the Play 2 Earn economy

eveyrthing will be processed using the $KMON coin 🙂

we do really want to create a secondary economy and so the $KMON is a crucial pillar for this

4. Can you tell us more about the eggs and Kryptomon? How are they used for the game?

sure! so as I’ve said a Kryptomon is a living creature, which follows different stages like any living creature

the egg is the first stage, then when they hatch player will have their own baby kryptomon, by taking care of them and with time they will become adult and so players can start fighting, take the P2E challenges and quests and finally breed new Kryptomons

the last stage then will be old kryptomons 🙂 so as you see indeed a living creature

the cool thing is that every kryptomon is unique based on their DNA cause they are procedurally generated

🙂 of course, one thing we always promised and which is part of our company believes is to deliver quality over quantity, so some time we take more time to release updates, cause you can’t speed up quality

5. A recent hot topic has been that GameFi platforms are not easily accessible as it may cost users hundreds of dollars to get started, how have you lowered the barrier of entry?

you are right, the moment I’ve approached this market the first thing I did realize was “damn this is expensive”

I mean, I’m a player, and you know to me the avg price for a AAA game is like 70€ – spending like 1000$ to start playing the game like in Axie infinity for me is quite crazy, tbh I wouldn’t do it

and we do believe that this together the current gamifi UX indeed are preventing casual and mainstream gamers to start play

so we have two main objective:

1) Make the entire UX as smooth as possible, for example we have closed a Partnership with Simplex a leader in the cryptospace that allow people to buy crypto directly with their card, so we will implement this in our system to allow players to buy $KMON directly on our website without the need to get BNB go to pancakeswap etc etc

2) We have the objective that in the future an entry level Kryptomon will not cost more than 100$, and it’s all a matter to balance the supply and demand, so currently we are running activities such as the Egg Lottery, where every player can stake $KMON in order to get tickets to win an egg every week

6. What is the gameplay like?

So Kryptomon will be a 2D game, initially browser based so everyone can play from any device (Mobile apps are planned for next year)

So as you can see from the screens, player will see their kryptomons hanging around and they will be capable to give them items and take care of them 🙂

Then the battle mechanics will definitely resemble the Pokémon one, cause at the end why reinventing the wheel ? 🙂

yeah and as someone who played Pokémon almost religiously growing up, I can definitely appreciate that 🙂

7. Where are you on your roadmap? Once the game is launched, how will you incentivize yourselves to keep improving the game?

this is our current roadmap coming from our latest announcement

on the 15th of october we released the hatching, so players with an egg were capable to hatch them and finally see their creatures

by the end of November the game will kick off, with the V1.0 or as we call it “Tamagotchi” so players will need to start taking care of their Kryptomons and train them in order to be ready for when the Battle will be released, so like having 3 months to keep growing their NFTs’ value 😄

To answer your question about the incentive to keep improving, the thing is this one

for me Pokémon was something big, I grew up with that, with Pokémon Green Leaf I was capable to recognize a Pokémon just by the sound it was making. When a kid and playing that game I was actually living that world in my mind, and I always dreamed about it.

Now I’m on the quest to make this dream true, if I dreamed about it, my kid will live it!

My first biggest disappointment in life comes from Pokémon, I do remember exactly the day I completed the Pokédex in Pokémon yellow, and trust me back then there were no cheating easily available, so you did really need to exchange pokemons etc – was a hell of a job

I went to Professor Oak, expecting something big, and the only thing I got was

“well done, pat pat”

Indeed, also this is the cool thing about Kryptomons, is that every monster is a NFT and each Kryptomon has a unique and 1 of its kind appearance once they hatch

8. Are you audited? How can you reassure users that their funds are safe?

So we have audit in pipeline, and soon as soon as the big setup is completed we will go through a big audit, but to reassure everyone our CTO Chris, is a an expert and we take security very seriously, so everything we do deliver goes under a rigid testing process, as well using standard procedures and best practices 🙂

9. Any exciting news you would like to announce today?

For example, to build and design the Kryptomon game we hired an AAA Game studio which is allow us to deliver an incredible quality

but I think the spoiler I can give, is that a top player of the gaming industry is joining the Kryptomon Company as investor – for us is like an incredible opportunity cause we do open to us the real world of gaming company and earning a great knowledge and experience 🙂
