In what is surely a tasty DeFi use-case, a Japanese restaurant has begun accepting $CAKE for payments. This was made possible by a member of the PancakeSwap community – @kamejir0u, who created a unique $CAKE payment service for a Japanese restaurant, Tsubaki Salon. Aptly named PancakePay, the service lets shoppers pay with $CAKE tokens when they order for pancakes and cakes at the restaurant.
$CAKE is the ecosystem token of BSC’s most popular decentralized exchanges, PancakeSwap. The developers – who call themselves Chefs, were thrilled to learn of the interesting use-case:

According to its website, PancakePay aims to make $CAKE payments fashionable in Japan. The restaurant takes orders from any part of Japan. There is also an additional incentive: buyers receive PancakePay NFTs with each successful purchase.

$CAKE fan @kamejir0u is a typical example of a community’s loyalty to a project. His passion for the $CAKE cryptocurrency drove him into setting up a local use-case for $CAKE without any affiliation to the PancakeSwap project team:
