Inside the Web3PH Summit: Onboarding the Next Generation of Builders

During the two-day event, Web3 builders from across the crypto industry imparted their knowledge to the Philippines community.

Promoting Web3 in the Philippines

Web3PH, a Philippine-based group of Web3 leaders, recently held their two-day event at the Draper Startup House in Makati city.

The event took place from Oct. 28 to 29, comprising a series of panel discussions on various aspects of the Web3 industry. The first day ended with a pitch session, where Web3 startups promoted their projects to perspective investors, while the second day was capped off with a networking session to connect the local Web3 community.

“This started out with just a few friends wanting to get people in Web3 in the best way they knew how – through community events. We’re truly humbled by the support we’ve received,” Bianca Cruz, one of the organizers of the event, told BSC News. “We’re grateful for everyone who was part of this success, to our sponsors, partners, volunteers and of course the whole Web3PH community. We look forward to continuing the discussions online and in future events.”

Web3PH was also the group that organized the Binance sponsored meetup in the Philippines. The group aims to onboard the next generation of Web3 builders through a series of events that help connect the local industry. The team regularly does breakfast networking events, as well as hosts Crypto Nights. The summit is one of their larger events that featured leaders of the local industry speaking in front of those looking to enter the space.

“The Web3Ph Summit event provided a fantastic opportunity for everyone in the Web3 community to build connections for future project collaboration,” Fe Almodiel, program manager of Draper Startup House, said. “The event provided a safe and inclusive avenue for individuals like me, who just started to deep dive into Web3. Overall, it was a great experience and it truly adds value to what I’m working on for DSH-Artist Collective and DSH Academy.”

Even the speakers had a great time connecting with the attendees of the event. Local Web3 leaders imparted their knowledge and experience on trading, metaverses, startup funding, and other aspects of their Web3 journey. But the main highlight was interacting with an audience that was more than eager to learn.

“The Web3 PH Summit was a definitely one for the books. As a speaker, what I liked the most about the event was how it allowed to connect everyone. I also loved how the whole summit felt so light and welcoming to everyone,” Nicco Viray, Co-Founder of Ark Of Dreams, said. “The audience somehow made me feel like I’ve known them already before despite meeting them there for the first time, lol. The networking sessions were amazing. You really get to see and witness how everyone was passionate about building the Web3 Community here in the PH and the willingness to collaborate with each other.”

The Philippines has been seen as a country ripe for crypto adoption as it fully embraced the blockchain game, Axie Infinity. Events like the Web3PH Summit help open more doors for Filipinos to better understand Web3, beyond blockchain gaming.
