Web3 Attracts More Top Talent
The YouTube Head of Gaming, Ryan Watt, announced an incoming departure in order to take on a new role at Polygon Studios. Watt follows a trend of top executives and notable figures who are pivoting towards the blockchain Web3 space.
Watt announced via Twitter on January 25 that he will be leaving in February to assume a new role in blockchain and Web3. He included a goodbye message to the community in his post in which he expressed fascination and excitement for his transition.
“I will miss YouTube dearly, but it is time for me to pursue other endeavors in life and where my passions are taking me,” Wyatt wrote in his post. “I am fascinated by blockchain app development and am beyond thrilled to enter the web3 space.”
Wyatt is a veteran gamer and crypto enthusiast served as YouTube’s Head of Gaming for seven years. On Twitter he used to describe himself as YouTube’s head of Gaming, and a “web3 & crypto advisor/investor by night.”
Polygon Studios also acknowledged the new appointment in a congratulatory Twitter response to Watt’s post.
