Football Legend Michael Owen Joins DeRace Team

Former Ballon d’Or winner and horse racing enthusiast Michael Owen becomes the latest high profile name to join DeRace.

DeRace Scores an Influential Advisor

DeRace confirmed its exciting project had followed an extremely successful mint by bringing a star name on board.

The team officially announced that Michael Owen would be joining as an advisor via Medium on October 5th. The former Real Madrid and Liverpool star is well known for his interest in horse racing and will likely bring even greater exposure to the exciting project.

“Michael is bringing his considerable 20+ years of experience working with many great racehorses to the project and will help the team provide the absolute best virtual horse racing experience available anywhere on the market.” The team explained the motivation behind the acquisition in the announcement.

The internationally recognized sports star has flirted with the idea of joining an NFT project before, but it appears DeRace has done enough to catch his interest and bring him on the team.

Not Unfamiliar Territory for Owen

Also, a part of the team at Manor House Stables, which he constructed along with his wife, Michael Owen, will bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to DeRace.

Originally a cattle barn, Manor House Stables now covers 160 acres and has grown to accommodate over 90 horses. With state-of-the-art facilities and access to professional care, it has always been an exceptional place for taking care of horses. Owen’s commitment in setting up the organization is a testament to his love for the animals themselves.

“My main passions in life have always been my family and football, but I suppose a close third is horse racing,” Owen explains on the Manor House webpage. “The joy of owning a racehorse is indescribable, from buying them as youngsters, watching them develop and seeing their first visit to a racecourse. I have owned horses for many years and whenever I have time off, you‘ll find me down at the stables!”

It seems only natural that he should own his own NFT horses, and we look forward to seeing what impact his involvement will have on DeRace.
