Business development

As of today, EvidenZ has 105 institutional users in 17 countries around the world, on 4 continents. The full list is available here.

Overall, COVID has brought opportunities but has also slowed down business, especially on the international level, for obvious reasons. Nevertheless, the dematerialization of courses and the growing use of e-learning are making digital credentials a must.

You can track the number of institutions onboarded and the number of countries involved in real-time on the EvidenZ website. Nearly 60% of the activity is outside France (country of origin of the project), about 40% in Europe, 30% in North America and 30% in Africa.

Product development and technical roadmap

The technical team has been completed with the arrival of 2 additional full stack developers to ensure a strong R&D program in the next 24 months. The objective is to strengthen our technical leadership in the area of Verifiable Credentials blockchain and Self Sovereign Identity (SSI) while accelerating on the topics of multi/cross-chain and deployments on other EVM compatible blockchain.

Patents

The first patent for EvidenZ was published in the U.S. in July 2020 after receiving first reading approval on all 19 claims. In a nutshell, this patent describes a method to guarantee the authenticity of data over the very long term, with the highest level of security while complying with the GRDP by combining an SSSS cryptographic algorithm and the blockchain. As such, it is generic and can be applied to any vertical or use case. The patent is being registered in many countries, including Canada, all of Europe, India, China…

US10715313B2 — Systems and computer-based methods of document certification and publication. A method is implemented in a networked computer system that is connected to document issuers and validators. patents.google.com

A second patent, whose content remains confidential, was filed in March 2021. With the many fields of application and its highly innovative character, it will stand out in the world of data security, in the broadest sense.

Binance

Last November, following the deployment of EvidenZ on BSC, over 1000 Masterclass certificates were issued by Binance. Since then, we have been working with Binance to provide them with the best possible blockchain digital certificate platform on BSC.

Institutional Partnerships

eCampusOntario

We are very pleased to be continuing our collaboration with eCampusOntario. As a reminder, eCampusOntario is leading a consortium of 48 indigenous colleges, universities and institutes to develop and test online tools to enhance the use of educational technology and digital learning environments.

For the third time in a row, we have renewed our partnership with eCampusOntario for the next 12 months, proof of the satisfaction of the current users and the usefulness of the solution for academic institutions. This partnership allows us to increase our visibility in this part of the world and facilitates access to the solution for the 48 members of eCampusOntario.

In a country where digital credentials are becoming a must, 23 colleges and universities have already deployed the solution, and new institutions are steadily seizing the opportunity to adopt it.

EBSI

We are currently deploying our solution on the European Commission’s EBSI blockchain, as part of the Fr.EBSI project, a project led for France by the University of Lille within the European Blockchain Partnership.

Specific information will be provided in the coming months.

In the next 20 months, we will deploy our solution on the EBSI blockchain, which will enable it to issue, manage and store “Verifiable Credentials” (100% digital certificates of official documents, diplomas, acquired skills) within the EBSI infrastructure.

EvidenZ is a special project in the cryptosphere. Our strategy is based on organic growth and on increasing the use of the platform worldwide. As such, we focus our efforts on product development, commercial development for institutions and partnerships. We are convinced that this is the best strategy to ensure real and long-term success. Don’t get us wrong: we have huge ambitions, we intend to go far and bring our community with us 

EvidenZ “vs” BCdiploma

We decided to make a change in the way the project is presented in the crypto world. Historically, the brand name “BCdiploma” was used to refer to the entire project, both on the institutional and crypto/tech side. We decided that it was needed for the BCdiploma brand — which works perfectly in the academic world — to be exclusively dedicated to the institutional sector, without mentioning the “crypto” aspects. This change is necessary to guarantee an optimal referencing of the solution and good readability on the digital credentials market. Please note that most of the communication to the institutional and academic world is done via LinkedIn and the new BCdiploma.com blog.

From the perspective of the cryptosphere and technology, the BCdiploma brand is too “diploma” related and therefore too restrictive. For this reason, the EvidenZ and Blockchain Certified Data Token brands will now be systematically used in the cryptosphere: they better represent the generic side and better highlight the infinite potential of the project in terms of data certification. As such, an extensive referencing campaign of EvidenZ and BCDT on dozens of crypto sites has been carried out and is still ongoing. This is a lot of work, but we believe it is a prerequisite for quality communication.

A new institutional website on BCdiploma.com

After several months of work, a new institutional website dedicated to the BCdiploma solution was launched at the beginning of the year. Optimized for SEO and content-oriented, it aims to put BCdiploma at the top of Google’s charts on Digital Credentials related searches. The international aspect has also been taken into account with translations in French, Spanish, Vietnamese and an English-UK localization.

A new blog dedicated to academic articles and news

A new blog dedicated to digital credentials has been launched alongside the new site. It contains and will contain only articles for institutional users, which will gradually disappear from the EvidenZ medium.

EvidenZ.io traduit en 6 langues

EvidenZ.io has seen many updates, especially in the section related to BCDT. To promote organic growth in new territories, EvidenZ.io, already available in French and English, has been translated and put online in Korean, Vietnamese, Chinese and more recently in Japanese.

A complete overhaul of the medium blog

Until the beginning of the year, the medium blog included both crypto-oriented and “institutional-academic” oriented articles. A complete overhaul has taken place to guarantee better readability of the contents, by category, and to highlight the “most exciting” contents, focusing on the news related to the crypto world. Academic content will gradually be transferred to BCdiploma.com.

$BCDT in a few words

The $BCDT (Blockchain Certified Data Token) is the utility token of our ecosystem. It is necessary for issuing onchain certificates using EvidenZ smart contracts. Each time BCDT tokens are used to donate future issuance rights to a certificate issuer, a portion of the committed tokens are destroyed, effectively reducing the total number of $BCDT in circulation.

$BCDT was already available on Uniswap, Balancer and IDEX, it is now available on Loopring. Loopring is an exchange that makes trading fast and with low transaction fees, while offering reward systems to liquidity providers. Loopring will make it easier for new holders to access $BCDT, reducing the acquisition fees that have been particularly high for several months on Ethereum.

A major incentive campaign

Part of the project’s $BCDT reserve is being used to encourage liquidity providers. What’s next: the multichain, an opportunity

In recent months, a trend is emerging: blockchains based on Ethereum offer an interesting alternative in terms of performance/costs/energy costs, while being “EVM compatible”.
