OG ESports will become the first-ever “Premium Event” ESports creator at Binance with a launch this week.
First-Ever
The addition of OG ESports to the Binance Non-Fungible Token (NFT) market marks another significant update for the venture, which was first announced in April. Binance has previously gone on record to state that they desire to create “the most compelling metaverse” of NFT content and “one-of-a-kind offerings and exclusive collaborations.” The OG team will become the first Esports team in the world to be tokenized.
Binance NFT Market
Since its announcement to the scene, the Binance NFT market has been making steady progress. Earlier this month, the exchange announced that it would be supporting the work of 100 worthwhile artists through its ‘100 creators’ program.
The debut collection of NFTs from OG ESports will land on June 28th, just four days after the full launch of the NFT market. The global Esports market has grown to over $1Billion, a 50% increase since 2020. The premium Esports event is a natural cross-over for Binance and should prove to be a worthwhile partnership.
The NFT market is easily accessed from Binance.com, with users able to use the same login credentials as for the main exchange. Binance has already announced several Premium Event creators for its NFT marketplace, but the collaboration with OG ESports ushers in new possibilities for Binance users, exposing them to the gaming market.
As Helen Hai, Head of Binance NFT, explained on Binance Blog:
“The gaming market has a lot of potential and the blockchain gaming industry has grown alongside the NFT industry. Now gamers can use native currencies within games to generate and collect NFTs that can be re-used or sold later. We believe that OG can play a significant role in making disruptive innovations with the gaming and NFT industries.”
Ready to Go
With the imminent launch of Binance NFT, the announcement of the OG ESports collection further demonstrates that Binance is assembling some top talent to its platform. With the market set to launch next week, NFT collectors will be keeping an eye out for further announcements in the days ahead as the industry giant seeks to create excitement for the big day.
JMR Luna, CEO of OG Esports, was also on hand to deliver his thoughts on collaboration.
“I am very proud that Binance.com chose OG Esport as their first Premium Esport drop for their new venture into NFTs. We have been working with Binance since December 2020, and they have been great to work with, and we are confident that this will be one of the many projects we will do together.”
