Crypto.com supports the growing NFT space by collaborating with Blockchain Association Singapore and supporting the GameFi ecosystem through its investment in Nyan Heroes.
Driving NFT Innovation in Singapore
Cryptocurrency exchange, Crypto.com and the Blockchain Association Singapore (BAS) struck a strategic partnership deal. Both platforms signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to promote Non-fungible Token (NFT) innovation in Singapore. Additionally, Crypto.com and BAS will utilize both of their techniques to bolster the evolving NFT ecosystem in the country and increase its adoption.
Following the partnership, Crypto.com will power the second iteration of the NFT charity auction tagged “Blockchain for Good,” part of Singapore Blockchain Week 2022. The NFT charity auction came into existence through BAS and the ‘NTUC-U care fund’ collaboration. The initiative generates funds to support families in need, schools, care for the aged population, and more. The auction will go live on the Crypto.com NFT marketplace in July 2022, and it will be available to NFT enthusiasts in Singapore.
Representatives from Crypto.com, NTUC-C, and BAS, spoke about the partnership while the crypto exchange announced the agreement through Twitter. A Press Release was also published by Yahoo Finance on May 11, covering the details of the cooperation. One of the representatives that spoke concerning the vital development, Eric Anzini, Chief Operating Officer at Crypto.com, stated that the collaboration with BAS would showcase the impact of NFTs on the community through the auction.
“We are excited to partner with BAS to not only advance NFTs in the market, but to also further harness the positive impact NFTs and the entire crypto ecosystem can have in our communities,” said Eric Anziani. “By partnering with BAS on this important initiative, we will be able to maximize our efforts while also continuing to build this technology for a highly engaged regional population.”
The partnership between Crypto.com and BAS will promote the association’s plans to donate to charity. Additionally, it would also boost the NFT adoption in Singapore, given that users will utilize the Crypto.com NFT marketplace for the auction event.
Educating the Public About NFTs
Co-Chairman of BAS, Chia Hock Lai, also expressed excitement about collaborating with Crypto.com. The Singapore-based association dedicates to educating the public about NFTs with the crypto exchange’s backing.
“We are honoured to collaborate with Crypto.com for the advancement and advocacy of NFTs[…] The acceptance and trend toward NFT ownership has been in the ascendancy in recent years and we expect this to continue. BAS is committed to further educating the public on this emerging technology jointly with Crypto.com,” Mr. Hock said.
Singapore’s Blockchain Week 2022 will feature in-person and digital meet-ups for participants. According to the report, the event will kickstart on July 25 and end on July 29. In addition, BAS will host hackathons, workshop, career fair, and an innovation lab crawl on July 25, including other joint events on July 28 and 29. Also, the Blockchain Week will be the first time it will be hosted in Singapore, with full support from leading government agencies and industry leaders.
Crypto.com Supports Nyan Heroes
PlayToEarn (P2E) GameFi platform on Solana, Nyan Heroes, closed its $7.5 million funding round for its game development. Crypto.com tweeted on May 10 after rendering support of the financing to the Solana-based AAA gaming project.
“We are excited to support @nyanheroes as they build a AAA battle royale title with compelling token economics to match,” Crypto.com wrote.
The strategic investment round took the protocol’s funding valuation to a whopping $100 million and will propel its vision to be the first AAA game in the blockchain space. Following the investment obtained from Crypto.com and other investors, Nyan Heroes will expand its team with community managers, artists, designers, etc. In addition, the protocol will also invest in marketing and build the game’s infrastructure to promote adoption in the Web3 space.
Nyan Heroes expects to launch an alpha version of its game in the last quarter of 2022. The GameFi protocol will use part of the funds to support the alpha launch on the Solana ecosystem.
