Chainlink Roundup: New Hire and UNXD VRF Integration

With an impressive new hire on board, Chainlink is looking ahead in the face of fresh integrations that will see UNXD utilizing Chainlink VRF.

New Hire, Same Exciting Integrations

In this week’s roundup, Chainlink announced the hiring of an all-new Chief Product Officer, Kemal El Moujahid, the former Director of Product Management for TensorFlow at Google. The team also revealed UNXD as the latest project integrating Chainlink Verifiable Random Function (VRF).

The latest developments were revealed to BSC News by the Chainlink team via an exclusive press release, and the team seemed particularly pleased to have acquired the services of Moujahid:

“Kemal has a track record of world-changing success; he was most recently responsible for building TensorFlow into the world’s leading machine learning platform and ecosystem,” said Sergey Nazarov, co-founder of Chainlink. “His work there helped to define the machine learning industry and enable millions of developers to be successful using that technology. I am excited to have him join Chainlink Labs to replicate that success in the blockchain industry.”

Moujahid’s rich experience has been underlined as the motive for acquiring his services. Furthermore, his ambition to ‘replicate’ his previous endeavors also speaks volumes for what Chainlink is hoping to achieve through him.

UNXD Integration

UNXD will leverage Chainlink VRF for its random reveal of DGFamily Glass Boxes, the team confirmed in a blog post on May 18. While unearthing a rare NFT is always a high point in any crypto user’s experience, there are important factors that help ensure the process is indeed fair for all participants.

It is precisely to ensure this fairness that UNXD is integrating Chainlink VRF, which will help power its DGFamily Glass Box reveal that determines if a collector has managed to snag a Black, Gold, or Platinum Box. This is an important match with Chainlink VRF being an industry-leading source for fair, verifiable, and tamper-proof on-chain randomness.

Chainlink VRF generates both a random number and cryptographic proof off-chain, then delivers both on-chain where the cryptographic proof is verified on-chain prior to the acceptance of the random number by the consuming application.

“Using Chainlink VRF will help us provide users with automated and publicly verifiable proof directly on-chain that the random reveal of DGFamily Glass Boxes is provably fair and cannot be tampered with or predicted by the oracle, outside entities, or the UNXD and Dolce&Gabbana teams,” the project explained in their blog post.

What is Chainlink:

Chainlink is the industry standard for building, accessing, and selling oracle services needed to power hybrid smart contracts on any blockchain. Chainlink oracle networks provide smart contracts with a way to reliably connect to any external API and leverage secure off-chain computations for enabling feature-rich applications. Chainlink currently secures billions of dollars across DeFi, insurance, gaming, and other major industries and offers global enterprises and leading data providers a universal gateway to all blockchains.
