NFT Ticketing, New Trend?
Binance has announced a pilot of a new NFT ticketing solution with soccer club S.S. Lazio for the upcoming 2022/23 season. Binance, the primary sponsor for Lazio’s jerseys, also lists the LAZIO Fan Token for trading on the Binance Launchpad platform.
Binance’s NFT ticketing test aims to ensure a comprehensive digital user experience in sporting events. For teams, NFT ticketing eliminates counterfeiting. Fans gain access to matches along with unique experiences, discounts, and more.
Users can now claim NFT tickets in at official Lazio stores, through social media, and on the Binance Fan Token Platform. BSC News was unable to reach Binance for a comment.
The NFT ticket pilot is at the vanguard of blockchain adoption in the sports sector. While adoption of the technology is at an early phase, the use case in ticketing and digital fan experience is strong and trending.
In June 2022, after an alleged ticketing problem for the Champions league final match between Liverpool and Real Madrid, the Inter-Ministerial Olympic Delegate of the French Government submitted a report to the French Prime Minister proposing a blockchain ticketing system for the Olympic Games 2024.
With over 50 fan tokens list on CoinMarketCap the sector is viable and growing. The Binance ticketing initiative will link the fan token universe to NFTs and an immersive digital fan experience.
