Aptos Emerges as Frontrunners For Fastest Time to Finality: Messari

Aptos has emerged as the fastest major blockchain network, with a median Time to Finality (TTF) value of less than a second. It uses a parallel execution mechanism to reduce latency and generate faster transaction speeds.

Aptos has emerged as the network to have the fastest time to finality (TTF)  along with Avalanche, according to a recent report from data analytics and research company, Messari.

The report indicates that Aptos is the fastest major network, with a median TTF value of less than a second.

TTF measures the time from a transaction submission to confirmation with a guarantee of irreversibility. It is a direct analogy to latency in networking and is considered a more accurate way to measure the speed of transactions.

The Aptos blockchain uses a parallel execution mechanism, which helps reduce latency and generate faster transaction speeds. Its low TTF, as highlighted by the Messari analysis, can make it accessible to a large number of users at once, especially when compared to other major chains.

Aptos claims to be the fastest layer-1 blockchain, able to process more than 160k transactions per second (TPS). Despite Aptos’ claims, its average TPS has steadily declined since its launch, dropping to 5.0 as of press time.

Worth noting Solana has a slightly higher TTF range of 1-2 seconds. However, it is one of the fastest, considering Solana’s large node count, whereas Aptos has 104 nodes.

Aptos(APT) is currently trading at $10.67 with a market cap of more than $1.7 billion.

What is Aptos:

Aptos is a new, independent project focused on delivering the safest and most production-ready Layer 1 blockchain in the world. The team includes the original creators, researchers, designers, and builders of Diem, the blockchain first built to serve this purpose.
