Alien Worlds Bridge–– What’s That Mean to Minecraft?

Minecraft players can now earn Trilium, the native currency of Alien Worlds, and NFTs for completing quests.

A Leap Into Web3 Games

One of the most popular PlayToEarn games on the BNB ChainAlien Worlds, has announced a new bridge with Minecraft on March 31.

Alien Worlds allow players to compete for Trilium (TLM), the currency used in PlanetDAOs to enhance their power. Furthermore, players can utilize Non-Fungible Tokens (NFTs) to travel to other planets to complete Alien Worlds Missions and run for positions in the planetary council. Through this collaboration, Minecraft players can now earn Trilium, the native currency of Alien Worlds. Further, Minecraft players will be able to earn assets and NFTs for completing quests if they stake their earned TLM.

“This bridge is significant in that we are linking one of the world’s most popular decentralized games to the blockchain and opening up a world of new possibilities for Minecraft players through our social metaverse,” says Alien Worlds co-founder Saro McKenna. “We think our combination of economics, team strategy, and earning will convert Minecraft players of all ages into Web3 players.”

As a result of this collaboration, people who don’t usually play or understand blockchain games are encouraged to join Alien Worlds metaverse. Since the code is open-sourced, it can be used by other Minecraft servers to earn rewards, thus enabling other blockchain projects to tap into Minecraft’s huge user base. By using this new bridge, gamers won’t have to be familiar with cryptocurrency or tokenization to participate in the active Alien Worlds community and play the strategy game.

Considering the value and innovation in gaming, bridges between passionate gaming communities worldwide can bring the two worlds together. Those involved in the blockchain world are aware that gaming is one way to encourage mass technology adoption. Considering Play-to-Earn models like Alien Worlds are making their way into the hands of traditional gamers, it will be interesting to follow the progress and potential integration of NFT utility into traditional Web 2 games.
