Zilliqa Capitalizes on Recent NFT Craze, Launching Football Star NFT Collection

Zilliqa and Polaris Sports join for an exclusive NFT Deal featuring 10 world-class football players

Zilliqa announced the unique NFT partnership with Polaris through a blog post on May 27. The NFTs will be available for purchase on Zilliqa’s marketplace starting June 6, 2021. With the UEFA European Football Championship coming up later this week on June 11, now is the perfect time for football and crypto to be coming together.

The collection is packed with lusophone and Spanish-speaking players lead by Colombian superstars James Rodríguez, winner of the Golden Boot award at the 2014 Brazilian World Cup, and Radamel Falcao. All ten players are established on elite European teams and should be known by football fans worldwide. Zilliqa’s brand-new Whitelabel NFT solution is creating this unique first collection

The 10-star drop is half full with stars from Portugal, who won the last Euros in 2017. João Félix, Renato Sanches, and  Rúben Dias anchor the Seleção Portuguesa, and their NFTs can be found here. Liverpool FC star, Diogo Jota, known for his play on the field and virtually as the world’s best FIFA Playstation user, expressed excitement on his Twitter last month. Felix, a key player for recent Spanish La Liga champions Atletico Madrid, also thanked Zilliqa on his Twitter. 

NFTs for the Ultimate Football Lover

Each player’s NFT will be sold as an Individual Football Star Pack in three different colors: gold, copper, and steel. There will be 111 packs per color, a total of 333 packs per player. Each of the Individual Football Star Pack will cost $3,500. Five of the 333 individual packs will also have the chance to win a signed jersey from the players.

All NFT buys will have the chance for additional prizes, Five buyers will be eligible to win a signed jersey from the player on their NFT. And one lucky fan will get to win either autographed boots or gloves belonging to the individual player of the pack. All signed collectibles were signed on-location during the production of the NFTs.

Fans can also buy a separate eleventh “super pack” NFT. This super pack will include a collection of all the star players. Each pack will include autographed digital card NFTs. The super pack will be limited to just 999 total, with 333 of each different color. These super packs are fetching a price of $20,000. 

The super pack would not be super without some extra perks. Three super pack buyers will have a chance to virtually meet three players and five buyers can win an autographed jersey from all 10 players.

Polaris took on a big collaborative effort to create these special NFTs. The company combined a worldwide production team in Italy, Portugal, and Singapore, with on-location footage shot with the players in the United Kingdom, Spain, France, Portugal, and Turkey.
