Starting in October, Robinhood will launch its crypto wallet first to a few testers, then to a wider audience.
Crypto Wallet Is On The Way
Financial and Investment services platform, Robinhood, will release its crypto wallet beginning from October 2021. The wallet will initially be released to a limited number of customers who will test the app and provide feedback.
Eventually, more people, who sign up to a waitlist, will be given access to the app. Robinhood announced the phased launch of its crypto wallet in a blog post on September 22:
“When wallets? We have news! We’re excited to share that starting next month, the first customers will begin testing crypto wallets on Robinhood,” the blog reads.
Robinhood’s crypto community has been awaiting a crypto wallet to bring more crypto utility to the platform. The community can now jump in on a chance to be among the first hands that will try the app:
“We heard you. Join the waitlist now”, the platform tweeted.
Building On The Robinhood Legacy
Like the legend from which it derives its name, Robinhood believes that everyone should be able to benefit from a financial system rather than just a few. As such, the platform does not charge users any commission for transactions.
Robinhood’s products are developed with a focus on customer satisfaction, and the coming crypto wallet will be no different. The wallet will enable users to easily move their crypto assets to and from Robinhood for maximum advantage:
“Robinhood crypto wallets will allow you to move your crypto in and out of your app… into your Robinhood account so you can trade those coins commission-free and more.”, the platform reiterated.

Robinhood introduced support for crypto trading on its platform in 2018. A native crypto wallet has been three years in coming. In a recent chat with CNBC, Robinhood’s Chief Product Officer Aparna Chennapragada said Robinhood took its time on the wallet to get it right on its security, accessibility, and utility.
Once here, we do hope that the wallet delivers on its promise.
