Great, so to start things off

1. Please introduce yourself and the team behind Whale Platoon.

Great, thanks Andrew.

Firstly I’d like to that everybody here for their time and showing interest in our project!

The core team consists of five people. Myself, Cryptocoker, responsible for the marketing, partnerships and sales. Jan434 is the lead dev. Arne220 is the finance guy and helps with the development of the project. We have an in-house artist who prefers to remain anon, and Proximo is responsible for community management!

2. What is the Whale Platoon platform? What are you trying to accomplish with this project?

We created the whale platoon platform to build NFTs that provide utility, interactivity and beautiful art to our community. When thinking about how to make NFTs more fun and interactive, we came up with the idea of evolutionary NFTs. The idea is that an NFT starts off with an image of a baby whale with a certain number of traits. Over time that NFT evolves and more images of that growing baby whale are added. By contract interaction the holder can influence the development of some of the traits. The algorithm in our image generator still ensures that each image has a unique list of traits.

Our whale platoon collection, that is currently for sale, is a way for us to introduce our artist, start building the community and give early adopters a chance to benefit from our project.

Yeah when I began research into your project for preparation of this AMA, I found a lot of super neat and unique utility behind your NFTs that we have not really come by on the BSC side of the NFT market

So to touch more on the artwork before we get into the utilities

3. What makes your NFTs unique compared to other projects out there?

For our current Whale Platoon series (currently minting) the USP is most definitely the backgrounds. Hardly any NFT projects utilise backgrounds in the way that we do. It definitely makes our art standout. Here are some examples:

For the evolutionary series, this is a novel and original concept – several images in one NFT. So, re the design, it’s definitely going to standout just by the nature of what it is!

Oh yeah I definitely see that. The backgrounds of most NFT projects tend to be plain colors whereas yours is an actual landscape of some sort

4. What are the utilities of your NFTs?

Our current Whale Platoon series (currently on sale) allows holders to create a unique referral link and receive 20% of revenue for each sale made using their referral code! Also, our epic holographic whales will receive 90% of royalties distributed to their wallets each month. There are only 100 whales in the whole pod (and only 23 or so holos have been minted so far) so when normal minting ends and marketplace trading increases, that will be a fair amount of royalties to those lucky holders!

I would like to add that our future NFTs will have a lot of utility in terms of user interaction as well. We think that the combination of randomized traits and user interaction is very cool. So in the future you will be able to influence certain traits of your nfts.

I want to ask a question about the royalties but I think it would make more sense for us to talk about $KRILL first

5. What is $KRILL and how is it used on your platform?

The $Krill token will be the currency of the whale platoon platform. Typical applications like farming will be implemented. The $Krill Token will be needed to interact with the contract of the coming series “Whale Platoon: Evolution”. We will also provide ways for our supporters to earn $Krill tokens by interacting with the whale platoon community.

It isn’t launched yet, but holding our current series will be extremely beneficial. We understand the importance of community and will make sure our current Whale Platoon holders reap the benefits of being the earliest believers in our project. Here’s an infographic on the $krill token.

So where does the other 10% go?

So, this is specifically for Holographic whales, of which there are only 100. So 90% is split equally between those holders, and 10% will go towards marketing and development.

6. What is the Holders Club?

7. In what ways are you focusing on the longevity of your project?

Jan

We have a very long term vision with this project. Our goal is to keep releasing products and building a growing demand for our platform. We will keep engaging the community and we will be offering benefits to whale platoon token holders in the future. The next step on this road is the release of our $Krill token and the coming NFT series “Whale Platoon: Evolution”. Our roadmap is filled with development until end of Q2 2022. We will see what comes after.

So we definitely have ambitious plans. Thanks for the question.

Very cool! I think many in this space are only looking into the EOY of 2021 and maybe Q1 of 22 anticipating the end of the current cycle but glad to see that you guys have plans that go beyond that

8. Can you tell us more about the Babylons x Whale Platoon INO?

Yeah. We have a real lon-term vision.

Re the INO.

The Babylons x Whale Platoon INO is a one-off series for Halloween. We wanted to do something fun and quirky, developing on the whales, as well as giving back to our community, that’s very important to us. The series will be on sale for one more day (until tomorrow) via our website rekt.army.

There’s lots of exciting news I’d love to share, but can’t just yet! But I can tell that we are hosting a Halloween Party in our Discord on Sunday 31st @ 6pm UTC!

Also, we are closing our whale platoon sale on the 31st, so this will be a nice way to commemorate that too. There’ll be music, games and giveaways! We will be giving away Boo Squad whales to 10 lucky people who mint our whale platoon on the final day of sale. There will also be one special surprise giveaway that we can’t disclose just yet.
