Baby Doge NFT holders can now play around in Decentraland dressed as Baby Doge.
The memecoin team informed community members of the launch of its first Metaverse wearable via Twitter on July 7. According to the tweet, users who currently hold any Baby Doge Non-Fungible Token (NFT) can enter Decentraland and play as the eponymous pup, starting July 18.
In a May 17 proposal, BabyDoge Coin ($BabyDoge) asked community members to vote on its plan to allow the NFT holders to wear their Baby Doge NFTs as custom skins in the Decentraland metaverse. According to the proposal, Baby Doge planned to create wearables for the Decentraland Linked Wearables Registry and link the wearables to its Baby Doge NFTs collection.
The objective of adding Baby Doge to the Linked Wearables Registry was to provide its NFT holders with access to exclusive wearables released by Baby Doge without having to pay gas fees. Also, each time the project drops a new wearable, it automatically appears in the Decentraland “Backpack” of existing Baby Doge NFT holders.
