Q1: Now to start the AMA, team Kawaii please have a quick introduction to the community.
Minh: Hello everyone, I’m Minh from Kawaii Islands team. Currently, I’m the CEO of Kawaii Islands and Imba Games Studio. With over 13 years of game development experience from Gameloft, VNG, Suga and Imba, I’m excited to lead this project and create an amazing play-to-earn game for everyone.
Reishi: Nice to meet you all. I’m Reishi from the Kawaii Islands team. I’m currently the Lead Game designer and 2D Art Manager at IMBA studio, with 7 years of experience in developing our Kawaii game series: Kawaii Mansion, Kawaii Home Design… and now Kawaii Islands.
It’s my pleasure to be here today with you all. Let’s find out more about this project that our team is passionately working on ^^~
Q2: Please share with us the background of the team behind this project. What are your past experiences?
Minh: Our team now has 30 members and is still expanding rapidly from the original team of 10. We started with the original team in early August and are expanding more to speed up and perfect the product.
Combining both game development and blockchain development talents from the 2 founding companies, we now have 4 tech lead and management members, 5 Game Developers, 10 Art/Design, 1 lead tester, 5 Marketing and CS, 5 Blockchain developers. Additional 20 testers from 2 founding companies are not counted in the official number.
Reishi: FYI, IMBA game studio has had over 6 years of developing experience with a myriad of video game genres, especially with this Kawaii style games. Over the years, we have attracted a total of 14M+ downloads and around 150K+ daily active users, as you can see from the statistics mentioned on Kawaii Islands litepaper.
And our strategic partner – Oraichain is the world’s first AI Oracle for Blockchain so they have an excellent background in blockchain technology.
Q3: As we all know, every project has a few stories behind the scenes; so what made you decide to build Kawaii?
Minh: Since our Imba Game Studio has many years of game development experience, when I had a chance to talk with Dr. Chung Dao from Oraichain about AI and blockchain technology, we immediately clicked on the idea of making a great blockchain game and started Kawaii Islands.
Reishi: The name Kawaii Islands is a combination of our Kawaii branding series and the concept about a floating magical island among the clouds.
Joining the game, player will take the role of a novice merchant coming to Kawaii Islands in hope of changing their fate, under the guidance of a very adorable Cat Butler named Milky. Our goal is to turn Kawaii Islands into a high-quality anime-style game that enable players to enjoy, relax while playing to earn ^^~
Q4: What makes Kawaii different from other competitors? Kindly list down some key features.
Minh: There’re 3 main features that differentiate Kawaii Islands from other projects in the NFT gaming field. Great graphic design: Imba game studio has had over 6 years of developing experience with this Kawaii style games, the initial design got great feedback from our customers when we introduced our trailer video and also the presale events.
And we have to talk about customizable: Kawaii Islands and NFTs gaming open up a flexible world for users as they can customize their experience with us. We have future plan to open up new features where artists can create their own game NFTs and sell them for in-game use. Other players can also purchase these and use them for their characters.
Reishi: Another unique feature we have in plan is to let players open their own business in-game such as restaurants, bars, etc. where they serve other players as customers. We also aim to implement more social features in games such as multiplayer mini-games, clan or relationship…
We consider all the features mentioned above a brand new approach among the existing blockchain games. By focusing on these unique features, we hope to expand and maintain a healthy community where everyone can enjoy playing, earning and socializing.

Q5: Let’s dive into your token $KWT. Can you share with us your tokenomics? What are the use cases? Does it get audited?
Minh: KWT token is the governance token of Kawaii Islands with multi-purposes: In-game fee-paying, Receive rewards, Share revenues. Players earn through Delivery Orders, staying on Top of Leaderboard for Home Decoration/ Fashionista, Staking or Selling items. They also spend KWT to Craft items, buy items or pay event fee.
For governance function, players can vote on KWT important decisions like propose spending or change game policies. Each proposal is raised via a voting interface in the game (coming soon) and only when the majority votes for its “pass”, the policy is applied.

We will make sure our smart contracts are hacker-resistant and precise by getting them audited by Certik, one of the most proficient security solutions in the blockchain scene right now.
Q6: Can you share with us how to play Kawaii Islands? How can users benefit from your game?
Minh: At the current state of the game, to start playing and earning, it’s required that you buy some essential game assets: a magical plan, a field, and a magical creature. This can be thought of as an “entry fee”. The price of each item depends on the game’s decentralized market, sellers decide the price. Everyone can start earning AIRI at the moment, we will switch to KWT after the IDO, this will help us stabilize the game and its economy first.
There’s also a free-to-play feature whereby players can visit other players’ islands to help them harvesting fruits and eggs, this does not affects normal players at all.
We aim to build a metaverse for players to explore and enjoy with their friends, family or other players, where they all can Play, Connect, Create and Earn.

Q7: Let’s talk about partnerships & influencers that you are collaborating with.
Minh: Our strategic partner, Oraichain is a distinguished Oracle provider that directly supports us in our development with their time-tested reliability, innovative AI Oracles technology, and NFT marketplace.
We raised $2.4M from many elite investors. Other investors created a combination of traditional financing, gaming and crypto backgrounds. With their expertise, Kawaii Islands will take a step further to connect all other anime games into their making of an anime metaverse.
We are also promoting the game to many geographies by connecting with many big crypto and gameFi communities in each region.
Q8: Can you share your Roadmap in the next 6 months?
Minh: We just launched the Alpha game on September 30, and our secondary marketplace for players trading is also running. We will launch NFTs farming on our Marketplace soon as well (the news is not out yet but it is closer than you think haha ^^).
Reishi: What’s coming after that would be Home Decoration, Fashion Dress-up and later Seasonal Events. We also aim to implement more social features in games such as multi-player mini-games, clan or relationship as mentioned.
