Binance continues its drive for traditional advertising exposure by bridging into sports.
More Exposure for Binance Brand
The popular Italian football club confirmed that the cryptocurrency trading giant will feature on the Roman team’s jersey for two forthcoming seasons.
The announcement by the Serie A outfit made on October 13th via the official club website confirmed that the deal is worth $35 million. If Lazio can qualify for Champions League in the coming season this could prove a more valuable deal.
“We are extremely happy with this new international collaboration,” Lazio’s President, Claudio Lotito commented, “The partnership with Binance will allow us to extend our digital presence and connect with fans and followers from all over the world like never before.”
The excitement around the announcement continued as it was made apparent that Binance would be pursuing their own Sports Fan Tokens, independent from familiar projects like Chiliz. Chiliz and Socio.com have teamed with may powerful clubs, but Binance still has an opportunity to sign some of the world’s best.
Fan Tokens Find New Outlet
The move may well have come as a surprise to other competing sports crypto platforms, but Binance is not an organization to be caught waiting around as the LAZIO token was quickly unveiled.
The LAZIO token can be picked up on Binance Launchpad with 40 million on sale for a total of $4 million. Users will be looking for a forthcoming announcement that will signal access through spot trading, card purchases, and peer-to-peer trading.
Chiliz had, of course, been making positive progress with soccer clubs throughout the world and had even found their fan tokens (Milan, for example) officially listed on Binance. Still, this latest move represents a new juncture for the industry.
Binance brings a wealth of financial muscle with it and is likely to attract some of the biggest sports names. We look forward to seeing how this latest drive develops.
