BSC News Founders Emerge For Story Time
All three founders of BSC News joined the BSC News Birthday Bash Livestream on Tuesday, 30th November. In celebration of this momentous event, three influential members from across Binance Smart Chain (BSC) came to ask the founders questions and explain the inside story of BSC News.
The event featured some high-energy guests: Simran Alphonso, PR & Communications from BSC Community; Tyler Zhou, Head of Growth & Partnerships at SafePal; Tommy Su, Director of Operations at NFTb. The questions jumped from broad themes about the future of cross-chain growth to the accessibility of cryptocurrencies to the battle between CeFi and DeFi. However, the main theme of the event focused on BSC News and the team’s origins.
“Luckily enough, Binance Smart Chain appeared,” Co-founder and COO Kamran Iqbal said when speaking of his first travails in Decentralized Finance (DeFi) on Ethereum. “It was like a game-changer. From losing a lot of money, to Binance being a pot of gold. It was crazy because you couldn’t do anything wrong on Binance Smart Chain. From there, I was able to enter the community, and meet my two partners.”
The high APYs and ease of the Binance Smart Chain are major motivators from nearly all users who make the switch from Ethereum to BSC. The story behind BSC News is one of mutual vision for something missing from the growth of Binance.
The demand for news was undeniable and Kamran, Greg, and Ben put the pieces together. Through the full crypto ups-and-downs of 2021, BSC News has built a team of over 30 people from five different continents.
“I spoke to people before, and they asked: ‘For what you know, why start a news and media company? Iqbal continued. “I told them, ‘I really have massive passion for this. I don’t know where the passion came from,’ And this drive I had made me think it would be amazing. At first, I was up all the night with all these crazy ideas!”
The team was not short of excitement to share the story and reminisce on the beginnings of Binance Smart Chain. With a bigger vision indicated by the new parent company DeFi Direct aggregating news from all chains, the team from BSC News has much to build out.
